Chocolate Chip Cookies (soft)

Makes 12 generous cookies
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (I usually cube & melt the butter in the microwave, approx 35-45 seconds)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 large egg, whisked
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup + 3 tbsp all purpose flour
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the butter and brown sugar until thoroughly combined.
3. Add the salt, baking soda, vanilla, and whisked egg; mix until egg is fully incorporated.
4. Add the flour and chocolate chips, mix until combined.
5. Scoop the cookie dough onto the baking sheet.
*I like to use an ice cream scoop to aid with keeping the sizing consistent. I do a very rough job of it, and the shapes of my cookies are no where near perfect, but I'm in it for the taste!
6. Bake for 8-12 minutes, checking after the first 8 min (the batch in the photo took 11 minutes).
7. LET THE COOKIES COOL!
*I know, it's really hard not to eat them right away, but they will firm up when you let them cool!
