Antoinette's

Whitehorse is probably one of the last places I’d expect to find flavours of the Caribbean (and sushi), but I had heard good things about Antoinette's and wanted to give it a try.

Lamb Curry

I went with the lamb “lollipops” in curry, which was a dinner special (spring/early summer 2017) not available on their regular menu. It was rather pricey even in comparison to the other options (Whitehorse has a higher cost of living), but I decided to go for it.

I love creamy curry and this one did not disappoint! The lamb was tender and flavourful and the curry was luscious with a strong but pleasant curry flavour. There didn’t seem to be any spice to this one, but I don’t typically expect heat with a yellow curry. Situated on top is a piece of “float” bread.

I really only have two criticisms about this dish: the portion of lamb needs to be bigger for that price and there also needs to be more carbs (either bread or rice) to soak up that delicious sauce! Overall not a bad spot to inject some bold and different flavours into the Whitehorse experience.
