Browns Social House - Brentwood
Browns Social House has proven to be a solid choice when in a bind with little time to decide where we should eat. Of the chain restaurants available in my neighbourhood, Browns is probably one of the more casual choices (in comparison to Cactus Club or Joey's).
On Sunday and Mondays, Browns offers its pizzas at $12/ea, instead of the $14.95 - $16.95 regular price range - it's a really good deal! Unfortunately they discontinued making my favourite pizza (I can't remember the name, but it had a bunch of meats on top), so I had to find a new favourite dish.

Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich
The Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich has become my regular go-to order. The chicken is crispy with a perfect breading to chicken ratio. There's a generous amount of good quality bacon in there, and the buns are delightfully squishy. I wouldn't really call it spicy, but it is definitely a great crispy chicken sandwich. I also really like their fries- super crisp on the outside, perfectly salted, and fluffy potato goodness on the inside.

Crispy Calamari
We also ordered the crispy calamari appetizer. Normally I might make a comment about how they gave us less calamari and replaced it with the fried jalapenos instead, but those jalapenos were so good! Obviously there was a kick to them, but it wasn't as spicy as you would expect. The calamari was crispy as advertised, though I would have preferred tzatziki sauce for dipping rather than the tartar sauce they gave us. And if it was supposed to be tzatziki, it was the worst tzatziki I've ever had... pretty sure it was tartar sauce though!
If you find yourself looking for consistent food in the North Burnaby neighbourhood and don't mind hitting up a chain restaurant, I'd highly recommend Browns Social House. I'll certainly be back for that crispy chicken sandwich - that thing's got my name written all over it.
