Ramen Gojiro
I've had a ramen craving for a while now. My recent visit to Marutama Ra-Men unfortunately didn't live up to my ramen requirements, so I was stoked when my coworkers wanted to hit up Ramen Gojiro.
Reading the menu options, I was already feeling more optimistic about this ramen joint than I did at Marutama. I love chicken karaage! And I love ramen! Put them together and you arrive at the beauty pictured below.

Basic with Karaage and a Side of Corn
I ordered the basic bowl of ramen with chicken karaage (you have the option of chicken karaage or chashu pork). You then choose light or rich broth; I went with rich, and man, it is RICH! I never knew a chicken-based broth could have so much substance and depth to it. As an extra, I also ordered corn - next time I think I'll add on a soft boiled egg too because I gobbled up the whole bowl no problem.
The ramen noodles are thicker than I'm used to, but because of this they maintained their pleasantly firm bite as they sat in the delicious broth. I've said it before and I'll say it again - no one likes a soggy nood! If you look closely, you can see a little pile of paste just below the chicken - this is garlic! It had a spicy kick to it and was very potent... but that didn't stop me from happily accepting my coworker's offer to give me her garlic as well (I highly suggest having gum/mints readily available if you do that). A couple coworkers ordered the Basic as well, but added another half order of noodles.
Another coworker ordered the Basic Bakamori with chicken karaage, which is essentially the same as the Basic, just with more of everything. It comes as a somewhat intimidating heaping bowl, but to be fair I think most of the added volume upon presentation is attributed to just a ton of bean sprouts. Underneath though, he still received a much bigger serving of the chicken & noodles. This size is definitely meant for those with bottomless stomachs.
I will ABSOLUTELY be back here for lunch even though it's considerably further than a couple other ramen options available to me. I'm salivating just thinking about it and already excited to have it again. Bring on the chilly fall weather so I can eat more ramen!
