Passek's Classics Cafe
We were up in Kamloops for most of the Labor Day long weekend to attend our friends' wedding (thereby rounding off a crazy year of so many weddings!!). These friends know how to have a great time, so we knew a substantial breakfast would be necessary to get us through the day. Enter Passek's Classics Cafe, just a short walk from the Signature Sandman Hotel where we were staying.

Harry's Huevos Ranchero
Having just had a classic diner breakfast the day before at Home Restaurant in Hope, I was looking for something a little different from the regular breakfast fare. The Mexican flare offered by Harry's Huevos Ranchero caught my eye and delivered on the variation I was looking for. This breakfast came with two eggs cooked the way you like (I went for over easy), "ranchero" sauce, refried beans, tortilla chips, cheese, salsa, and sour cream + guacamole on the side. I liked having the tortilla chips on the side - rather than scooping up the goods with a piece of toast, I used the chips which made it nice and crunchy. I didn't notice much with the ranchero sauce - all I really tasted was the salsa, but that wasn't a big deal. The only thing is it may be a bit pricey at $11.95 given it was basically eggs, tortilla chips, beans, and salsa.
The service was wonderful - our waitress was very friendly and kept our coffee topped up at an impressive rate. Group consensus was that the food was good, and you get a heartily portioned breakfast to start your day. A great option if you stay local!
